ROUTING NUMBERS
Summit's routing number is 271985320
That is the number for direct deposit, ACH transfers, automatic payments, and checks. Wires use the same routing number plus a few extra lines, which are spelled out below.
The three numbers
What each one is for
Most forms ask for the first two. Only incoming wires need the third.
Routing number: 271985320
Nine digits that identify Summit to the rest of the payment system. It is the same for every member and every branch, and it never changes. Use it for payroll direct deposit, ACH debits, and check orders.
Your account number
Specific to you, and different from your member number for checking and savings. Digital banking shows it under account details, and it is printed to the right of the routing number on your checks.
Wire instructions
For an incoming domestic wire, the sender needs routing number 271985320, Summit Federal Credit Union, 120 Meridian Avenue, Riverton, MN 55402, then your name and account number in the beneficiary field.
ACH or wire
When to use each one
Both move money between institutions. They are not interchangeable.

Can it be reversed
Sometimes, within a limited window
Essentially never once it lands
Typical use
Payroll, bills, moving money between your own accounts
Home closings, vehicle purchases, large time-sensitive payments
How to start it
Give the payer your routing and account numbers
Call (800) 555-0148 or visit a branch with photo ID
Because wires are final, confirm every instruction by phone with a number you looked up yourself, never one sent in an email. Wire fraud in real estate closings is the single most expensive scam we see. This is a demonstration website; numbers and figures shown are illustrative only.
Finding your number
Three places your account number lives
In digital banking
Open the account, tap account details, then show number. This is the most reliable source because it gives the exact number in the format other institutions expect.
On the bottom of a check
Reading left to right: routing number first, then your account number, then the check number. Do not use the number printed at the top right of the check, which is just the check number.
On a statement or from a teller
Monthly statements list it in the header. Any branch or the member line at (800) 555-0148 can also confirm it after they verify who you are.

Two minutes on the phone beats a payment that bounces back three days later.
