Reading the tables

APR, APY, and why both exist

APY is what you earn

Annual percentage yield describes a deposit account and already includes the effect of compounding. Because our savings dividends compound daily, the 4.15% APY you see is what a balance actually grows by over a year if you leave it alone.

APR is what you pay

Annual percentage rate describes a loan and includes certain lender costs alongside the interest rate. When you compare an auto loan across institutions, compare APR to APR; a low advertised rate with fees attached can carry a higher APR than a plainer offer.

Why your quote may differ

Every loan rate on this page is the best available. The rate you are offered depends on your credit history, the term you choose, the age of the collateral, and whether you set up automatic payment from a Summit account. Deposit rates do not vary by member.

When these change

Deposit rates are reviewed monthly and any change takes effect on the first of the following month. Loan rates can move more often. Once a certificate is opened or a fixed-rate loan closes, that rate is locked for its full term regardless of what happens here.
